Traditionally, yoga blocks are rectangular props often made from foam, but with the shift towards more sustainable practices, cork is quickly becoming the preferred choice. Although yoga props are designed to assist beginner yogis, that doesn’t mean that more experienced practitioners are limited from using them. Namely, cork yoga blocks help stabilize poses, thus making them more accessible to people with different body types and yoga levels. Furthermore, they can also be used to deepen stretches and other more complex poses. For instance, because of said support, cork yoga blocks make supported backbends and bridge poses much easier to do – and these are just a few of them!

As a matter of fact, most yoga blocks are traditionally made from foam. However, foam isn’t the most skin-friendly or durable material, and it doesn’t align with our mission at Samarali. That’s why we’ve designed our yoga blocks from cork, a more environmentally friendly alternative. Our cork yoga blocks also boast anti-microbial properties and are free from chemicals, latex, and PVC, making them gentle on the body.
